AUSTIN -- Outnumbered by House Republicans determined to pass a congressional redistricting bill, all but a few Democrats went into hiding today to keep the House from meeting. The House's GOP leader responded by ordering state troopers to find and arrest the missing lawmakers.

Remember when Texas politicians ennobled America? Men like Sam Houston, Sam Rayburn, Lyndon Johnson, Ralph Yarborough, Lloyd Bentsen, and Jim Wright. What has happened? Why are the worst kind of Republicans in the ascendancy now? Evil men like Bush and Delay, with their dark, machiavellian plans to marginalize the people and further empower the powerful few simply MUST be stopped. Thank God for the remaining Texas Democrats doing what needs to be done.
